Head of the Department of Applications of Informatics and Mathematics in Economics at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń
Witold Orzeszko’s scientific interests include research on economic and financial processes using quantitative data analysis tools.
In particular, he focuses on the use of machine learning and non-parametric statistical methods for modeling and forecasting financial markets. He is the author or co-author of 7 monographs and numerous articles, published in reputable national and international scientific journals.
He has participated as a leader or executor in six national and three university research projects. He is a reviewer for many respected international scientific journals. He is a winner of national scientific competitions, and for his activities, he has been awarded five times by the Rector of Nicolaus Copernicus University. Since 2013, he has been a member of the Polish Statistical Association.
He teaches courses in mathematics, financial and insurance mathematics, financial engineering, data science, and machine learning.
He collaborates with businesses in quantitative analysis of economic data.
Outside interests: sports, music, bridge.
